These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your purchase and use of the Civic Fee Ledger dataset and related materials (the “Dataset”), offered by Secrets Of Wisdom (“we”, “us”, “our”) at civicfeeledger.com. By purchasing or using the Dataset, you agree to these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you represent that you are authorized to bind it.
The Dataset is a compilation of one-time development impact, mobility, connection, and school fees levied by U.S. local governments and special districts, together with source citations, a normalized land-use crosswalk, confidence grades, and supporting documentation. The underlying fee figures are facts drawn from public government records; our product is the selection, extraction, normalization, verification, and arrangement of those facts.
We compile the Dataset from first-party government sources and check headline figures against those sources. Fees change frequently and are set by third parties outside our control; see Section 7 on accuracy.
Purchases are processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, LLC (“MoR”), who acts as the reseller of the Dataset, handles payment, and collects and remits any applicable sales tax or VAT. Your payment is subject to the MoR’s terms in addition to these Terms. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
The Dataset is delivered electronically — as a download link and/or by email to the address provided at checkout — promptly after your payment is confirmed. You are responsible for providing a valid email address.
Subject to payment and these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual (for a Snapshot) or term-limited (for a subscription) license to use the Dataset for your own internal business purposes within a single organization. You may load it into your internal tools, models, and reports.
Unless you hold a written Custom license, you may not:
Individual public facts within the Dataset are not owned by us; our compilation, arrangement, normalization, and accompanying materials are protected by copyright and database rights and remain our property. Need broader rights? Contact us about a Custom license.
The Maintained plan is an annual subscription that includes periodic refreshed releases and change-history information during your paid term. It renews automatically each year through the MoR unless cancelled before the renewal date; you may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current term. Updates and new coverage are provided on a commercially reasonable basis and we do not guarantee any specific refresh date or jurisdiction.
The Dataset is a digital product delivered immediately, so all sales are final once the Dataset has been accessed or downloaded, except where a refund is required by applicable law or granted under the MoR’s policy. If you believe a figure is inaccurate against its cited source, contact us at support@civicfeeledger.com and we will investigate and, where confirmed, correct and re-deliver the affected records at no charge. Correction is your primary remedy for data errors.
We take accuracy seriously and cite every figure to its source, but the Dataset is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Dataset is complete, error-free, or current, and fee amounts may change or be superseded at any time by the levying authority.
The Dataset is provided for informational purposes only and is not legal, engineering, tax, or financial advice. Before relying on any figure for a permitting, financing, purchase, or development decision, you must verify it against the linked government source and, where appropriate, consult the relevant authority or a qualified professional.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost savings, or business losses, arising out of or relating to the Dataset or these Terms, even if advised of the possibility. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Dataset will not exceed the amount you paid for the Dataset in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
You agree not to use the Dataset unlawfully, to infringe any third party’s rights, or in violation of these Terms. We may suspend or terminate your license for a material breach; on termination for breach you must stop using and delete the Dataset. Sections that by their nature should survive (license restrictions, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) survive termination.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your purchase governs that purchase. For subscriptions, material changes apply from your next renewal, and the updated Terms will be posted here with a new effective date.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the parties submit to the courts located there for any dispute not otherwise subject to binding resolution.
